Just in case someone doesn't understand what my previous blog was all about let me put it in a simpler statement. If God is in control the way most think (like some mysterous puppeteer) then He would not have given mankind free-will. Our lives as followers of Christ depend on choice not chance, circumstance or compulsory. We choose to believe, choose to follow and choose to live for Him. If God chooses to control everything and everyone then He would not have made choice a factor.
Now I do believe God is in control of the lives of those who choose to follow Him and His Word, but by choice.
I hope I make some sense with the following. God is with us, like we are with our kids. When there are choices to be made, we want them to make the right choice, but it is their choice to make. Like you say, we go thru the bad times to make us stronger and help draw us closer to God. If we are truly God's child it will draw us closer to him, and not make us turn away from him. We choose to go to church, we choose to sing while in church. Everything we do we choose to do. We just need to make the right choice, and follow God's word.
ReplyDeleteDoes a bad choice make you a bad person? Or are you just making bad choices? If you follow the Bible it is full of choices, so you have to believe that if you make the right choices you are in God's will, if you make bad choices then it still doesn't make you a bad person, just makes it easier for the devil to step in. I believe - if you don't believe in choice how can you say you follow the Bible?
